Why did you come to Benchmark Email for email marketing and what problem you were trying to solve?
We came to Benchmark Email in 2016 from TinyLetter because it also has an archive page of our past emails. First we used BE as a backup to TL, but when they no longer supported their service we have been full time with Benchmark Email and don’t see a reason to go elsewhere.
The BE service also has a Community area, which works sort of like an online blog. The few times we’ve contacted the BE support they have been very responsive and accommodating, in addition to the UI, in comparison of the many email marking platforms we have used since 2009. It is very easy to get in and then get out when sending an email campaign.
What results have you seen from using Benchmark Email?
The most recent features of Smart Sending and Smart Content have both increased the impact of engagement with our subscribers – the CMCS-Men. We see an consistent open rate of 40% – 60% (and we turned off click tracking) and many reply to the mails to communicate with us. Like every service like this there are some glitches, however, the difference with BE is how much it’s reliable, there are no drastic changes overnight and it is always a sure thing that we have come to count on for our outreach marketing needs.
This is important because 90% of our followers do so with email rather than social media. So we no longer worry about having a back up email marketing platform to use (though we have one to be smart). We love the vibe from the BE people, how they are midwestern down to earth and make us feel like part of the family. Treating each other the way we want to be treated is known as the Golden Rule, and BE realizes how there are people at the other end of our emails, and their tools are designed as such.
